Overview
This week we will continue our investigation into childcare in Northern Virginia while we also continue helping more students in class earn their U.S. Entrepreneurship Certification.
Friday, May 15th and Monday, May 18th
The Plan
The plan for Friday and Monday falls into two parts:
- Students preparing for the USECE will have another quiz on Friday, after which if you decide you're ready, you can take the USECE on Monday. Otherwise you'll have another quiz then.
- Students working on the childcare investigation will form themselves into groups of three, and each group will develop a business plan related to an aspect of the childcare industry that we have studied so far.
Here are some resources to help you write your business plan:

We'll meet with Sara and Bella on Monday, which will be our final check-in with them before the DNOVA Council meeting on Friday.
Monday, May 11th
Classwork
We have our rescheduled 15 minute check-in meeting with Sara and Bella today, and then USEC holders will continue to work on the childcare investigation based on their feedback.
The rest of us will take another practice USECE quiz applying the strategies we discussed last week.
- Madi, Molly and Noah: Business plan for a childcare cooperative. Peyton, Julian, Zander and Jeff: Business plan for a purchasing cooperative for childcare providers Mostapah and Aura:
We need a rough draft by end of class next Monday.
