CSC 221 Weekly Assignments: Week 6

CSC 221

Overview

This week will study Chapter 6: Dictionaries, sets, files and modules, our last chapter before we focus on planning for the PCEP certification.

Thursday, October 8th

Classwork

Since we've had some recent troubles accessing our textbook on the ibiblio website where it is hosted, we've added these instructions so you can build your own local version of the textbook should this happen again.

You'll have the rest of class today and your homework time to complete as many exercises from chapter 5 as time permits. We will have a quiz on chapter 5 at the beginning of class on Tuesday.

Homework / Evaluation

Complete as many doctest exercises from chapter 5 as time permits. You will earn two grades for this chapter: a process grade based on your commit history in your class repo, and a product grade for your score on Tuesday's quiz.

Monday, October 5th

Classwork / Homework

As promised last week, now is the time when you will begin using your git repos to submit programming assignments.

During class today, we will model the process of working through exercises from Chapter 5 Exercise Set 1: Doctest Exercises, making regular commits to your git repos guided by the CSC 221 Class Git Repo Grading Rubric.

Homework

Complete as many of the doctest exercises as your 90 minutes of homework time permits.
