Overview
This week we will work in the teams we created last week to begin planning for our SBE businesses. We will also take a Pre-test assessments to help in planning for our study prep for the certification exam we will take in this course.
Wednesday and Thursday, September 30th and October 1st
Classwork
The 4A class will take both the USECE Pre-Test and the short Solidarity Economy Pre-Test Wednesday in class. If time permits we will give back results of the USECE Pre-Test and start going over it.
The 5B class will take the Solidarity Economy Pre-Test and then get back their results of the USECE Pre-Test on Thursday.
I did a bit more investigation into the Elk River DECA project, and found out that it has become well known since the students there started a business that grew beyond the boundries of the school campus. Specifically, they created:
- The SWAGON: A trailer converted into a mobile retail store, allowing students to take their inventory directly to the public, appearing at community parades, local farmers' markets, and sporting events.
- The SHOP Downtown: A holiday pop-up store located in downtown Elk River, introducing the enterprise to non-school-affiliated consumers.
- E-Commerce Expansion: An integrated online store allows the student-run entity to process transactions, manage digital inventory, and fulfill orders outside of school operating hours.
- The On-Campus Hub: The original brick-and-mortar storefront inside Elk River High School remains the operational command center and test market.
Monday and Tuesday, September 28th and 29th
Classwork
The 5B class will take their USECE Pre-test today. 4A will take it on Wednesday.
On Monday in 4A we had the panel discussions on the SBE questions we prepared class last week. A summary of what we discussed follows. After the Pre-test 5B will talk about any additions they would like to make to these lists.
