Overview
Now that we (at last) all have access to our database server, this week we will create pair projects that will allow us to practice using it.
Goals for Week 2
Our goals for this are are:
Tasks
- Choose a partner to work with on this project. (partners have been chosen - Christopher and Edward, Antonio and Vaughn, Ahmad and Julian, Jametheil and Marin, Kaleb and Telmuun, Aaron and Jeff, with Jack working on his own).
- Web search examples of SQL joins.
- Discuss with your partner which examples interest you, and choose an example you find (or create your own).
- Add at least two tables to a database on our remote database server
- Write join statements to connect data from your tables.
- Prepare a brief demonstration / presentation to share in class on Thursday, February 16th.
Evaluation
You and your partner will present your two table database to class on Tuesday, February 21st. To earn an A, your database has to have at least two tables and you have to demonstrate the use of join statements to combine data from each of them.
