Overview
It appears we will be meeting approximately five more times this year - twice this week, once next week, and twice the week after that. We should use this time for a culminating activity that will help you bring together what you've learned during the year.
Goals for End of Year
With the time we have remaining, we should:
- finish the A Bent Field chapter from A Curious Moon.
- complete a project that uses a postgres database to do something personally useful.
- review and reinforce the skills and concepts you aquired this year so you can take them with you into your future.
On Tuesday, May 16th we will share presentations of A Bent Field, taking care of our first goal. We will use remaining class time to discuss the last two goals.
Final Project Requirements
An A final project should:
- include several tables (3 at least will be needed for a many-to-many
relationship) containing an
interesting
set of data. While interesting is a subjective term, your presentation should convince us that it is at least interesting to you. - contain data in your tables that is normalized. You should explain in your presentation what that term means.
- use all of the SQL statements we learned in the first three lessons of PostgreSQL for Everybody.
